A Quick Overview
One Factor That Nobody Thinks About in Terms of IncomeAnd matters way more than we think it does... "I need a new strategy." "I need to start a different business." "I just feel stuck with the amount of money I am making." "Why can't I get a raise like my friends are?" When it comes to money, everyone thinks that in order to make more of it they need to change their strategy constantly until they find one that works. And while that might be right occasionally, have you ever thought that maybe it is you that needs to change and not the strategy you are employing? A lot of us, myself included, carry beliefs about money from our past that our parents have passed down to us and whether we are conscious of it or not, they are putting a ceiling on the amount of money we are earning. Maybe we subconsciously get content after making more than our parents, when that happens, or even before then maybe we are telling ourselves that "success" and "making that much money" is something other people do. It comes down to our day to day actions and voices both in our heads and with other people. When your friends are around are you constantly complaining about not having enough money to pay bills? Or are you working on ways to make more opportunities and find new sources of income in your life? The energy you put out in those situations is much different and if you keep complaining about money like that you are going to slowly but surely start telling yourself subconsciously that it is always going to be like that. Also, how are you acting around money now if you aren't where you want to be? Are you in full control of it, know where every cent you earn is going and have investment accounts? Or do you just not like to think about money and hope that your card doesn't get declined when you go to Chipotle? If taking control of the money you have right now is an issue, I would definitely recommend looking into Ramit Sethi and his book, I Will Teach You To Be Rich. What you are speaking into existance around money matters more than you think on a subconscious level, it is time to get your mindset around money right. Your Mind as the Foundation of Everything, Including IncomeYes, you read that right. No matter what you do in life, your mindset and thoughts are always going to be at the foundation of that activity. Just think about it, if you are working at a job you are going to put in as much work as you believe that is needed to get the desired result. Wether your desired result is to just get to the next paycheck or to get to executive level, your mindset is at the foundation of that decision to work based upon what you value. Same in school, if you value an education and have positive thoughts about what it can do for your life, you are going to put in the work, study, get good grades and actually learn something that will excel your career. On the opposite of that, if you are just "trying to get through" and always are talking negative about school, then you are just going to pass through college and not learn anything that will help you excel at your job. Your mindset around money and income is no different. If you are constantly complaining and thinking of problems, you are never going to have time to think thoughts and take action that solve those problems effectively. Or if you are talking negative about "rich people" how do you expect to attract wealth into your life when all your subconscious mind is hearing is negative thoughts around money? This is just going to steer you away from money in the future if anything. When you develop a positive mindset around money, you will start to learn more about it, take more control, create more and work harder so that you can actually start attracting this into your life. What Can Happen if You Don't Develop Your Mindset Around MoneyYikes, really don't let this happen our you'll leave so many opportunities on the table. So, let's say you like this idea but never really change you habits and thoughts around money after reading this article, what will happen? Honestly nothing "bad" is going to happen to you, it is more about what isn't going to happen to you. You are going to not take the control and develop the mindsets around money that will present you with more opportunities too attract money into your life. Also, subconsciously you might not work as hard as you need to in order to attract these opportunities because you just don't really believe you are one of "those people that makes a lot of money." So many people get stuck in this thinking that success and money is for other people because they are just a normal person, nothing is special about them. Guess what, everyone is a normal person it's not like anyone is much different than us they just had clear priorities and mindsets that got them to where they are. This is not an easy area off your thinking to change, as I have been slowly changing my own thinking the past year or two, but it is definitely one that will pay off if you are in the long game around money. How Improving Your Mindset Will Benefit You In The Long Run A picture of how your income and life will look. Yes, in the LONG RUN, not next week or even next month. This is not some special formula of thinking that is going to make your boss give you a raise tomorrow or help you sell a million dollars in your business next week. Rather, this is a skill to develop in order to out the odds of success in your favor because you still have to go out and do the work. But, when you combine the work with this new thinking about money and your mindset around it and give yourself time, that is when we will really start to see results. Just imagine, instead of complaining about money to everyone, you talked about ideas and maybe someone liked your idea and partnered with you on it. Or, you took control of your finances and started investing even though you don't make a ton of money yet, you are going to put the energy out to the world that you are ready for more money and will be able to handle it when it comes. Taking control like this will make you more comfortable around money and this is a huge benefit, especially for those in business, because you won't be afraid to ask for money based around the value you are offering. We have to make money less of a taboo topic to talk about in life if we want to attract more. Time to Actually Get StartedTime for a solid workout for your mind. If you read the blog yesterday, this is the "dirt" of the post, where we actually help you take action! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out the blog post here >> Almost every day I will sum up the blog in some mental "workouts, which are essentially going to help you train your mind, much like you would train your body at the gym. Exercise #1: Stop Complaining Reps: All day Duration: Start with a week, go from there Notes: Focus on this when the topic of money comes up in your day to day life as well as in your mind. If you really want to challenge yourself, don't complain for a week in any area of your life that is much harder than you think. Exercise #2: Positive Affirmations Reps: 1x per day in the Morning Duration: 5 minutes Notes: Focus these around money and what money can do for your life such as "being a tool for your growth and opportunities" Exercise #3: Take Control Reps: Everyday Duration: 5 minutes at end of day Notes: Start taking control of your money, start by literally just knowing how much money you have in each account every day, down to the cent. This will make you more comfortable around money and have it be less of a taboo topic. Exercise #4: Positive Talk Reps: Say three positive things Duration: All day Notes: Whenever you copme across someone better off than you at this point in your life, whether it be on social media or driving by them on the highway, instead of thinking "I wish" or "Damn they are lucky," start to think positive thoughts like "wow they must have worked really hard that is so cool."
