While I am in no way getting unmatched results in my businesses, I am on the journey to finding successes in what I am doing, just like many of you are and I thought I would share with you one o the things that helped my results when I started practicing it in not only my business but my life as well!
And probably to your surprise, this is not some new marketing or sales strategy.. This is actually a habit you can practice weekly that can get you results!
While the 10x rule, where you take 10x more action in everything that you do, is probably one of the most effective strategies, this is not far behind and is focused around time management.
This strategy is planning out your week day by day.. seems simple right? Well it i easy to say and hard to do because most people don't sit down and take the time to do it.
The One Habit That Will Improve Your Results
Here is how I practice this habit at least. Every Sunday I take time near the end of the night to reflect on the past week and then figure out what I can improve and short term goals for the coming week.
During this time I also take time to plan out each day of that week with things that need to get done in order for me to be getting closer to my goals and advancing that week. This makes sure that you don't stay stagnant and are progressing each and everyday towards your goals, with a clear plan in sight.
When you wake up with a plan you start understanding what you need to do right away to get closer to your goals and you don't waste time figuring out what to do in order to get closer to your goals today.
Sitting down on Sunday, before the week gets busy, allows you to see the bigger picture while planning your days.
When you try and plan the night before you might be tired, feeling rushed because you have other stuff to do still and rush through your day planning because it's low priority.
Just make it easy on yourself and try it on Sunday for a few weeks so you day isn't as busy as trying during the week. You will notice a difference in the week as you start and build momentum right when you get up by knowing and then executing on exactly what needs to get done.
Another key here is to make the important activities and things you need to do in the beginning of the day if you can. This is because when you wait until later in the day then it is easier to get pushed off the place if you're too "busy" or you lose track of time.
When you setup your day so that the most important things are towards the beginning it makes sure they get done and then gives you the rest of the day to do lower importance activities!
So, try this today, take some time out of your Sunday night, you might not have had anything panned anyways so perfect, and focus on reflecting on your week.
What went well and what could be changed or improved?
Then figure out the bigger picture vision for your brand or business and then break that down into yearly, monthly and weekly goals so you can easily plan your week around these weekly goals.
Then write down, day by day, what needs to get done in order to meet your weekly goals.
And don't forget to write down the most important things earlier in the day so you make sure they get done. this was one of my biggest problems and still occasionally struggle with it...
I was doing all the easier/ less important things first just to get them done and it really wasn't pushing me towards my goals. I wasn't seeing many results before I started doing important tasks first. But once it switched the results slowly started coming in!
