No more extra apps, "strategies" or systems, just a clear and effective way to get more done.

I could sit here and tell you that there is this new app and that if you add it to the other 100 productivity apps on your phone, this one is going to make the difference.
And then you would go, add that app and a week later you would forget about it and be right back to where you were before: stressed at work with a shit ton to do.
That is usually how the story goes, and I am guessing if you are reading this that you have had something similar happen to you, as we all have.
The thing with adding all of these new apps is that we forget about them after a while, sure they are nice right off the bat but eventually you really don't need them as much as you thought you would, so you forget about it.
Wanna know one thing that you can change and actually see lasting benefits though? Your mind.
We have to use our mind everyday and you can definitely tell when you are feeling better or off depending on the day. I would be willing to put money on the fact that when you feel these "off days," because off stress or whatever it may be, your work suffers and you don't get jack shit done during the day, you just kept yourself busy for 8 hours so you could go home.
It is time for a change, don't you say?
I almost forgot! If you are new to the blog, thanks for stopping by! With MMNTM (mo-men-tum) my goal is to help you level up your mind and mindset with effective "workouts." Much like you would train your body, this is the gym for your mindset, everything from your happiness and mental clarity to mental discipline and productivity. These are the things that have helped me the most and I love sharing them with you daily on yourmmntm.com/blog so be sure to stop out daily!
Now let's get back to what you started reading for.
Here's What You Can Look Forward To:
Why You Are Reading This Post
Are you a little stressed out at work?
You're stressed, we all are.
Long work days, or even days at school, filled with an insane amount of things that we need to be doing as well as things that we should be doing.
Our minds are jam packed and we are just looking for a way to get some more done, or at least not feel like we are gonna explode everyday that we wake up because of everything that we have to do.
Our sanity and mental well being should not be put on the back burner for our work. And actually when we put it first and foremost it will benefit our work much more than we think it will, it definitely won't waste the limited time that you already have.
You are reading this article because you are sick of feeling like there is never enough time in the day to get what you need to done and an app just isn't going to solve that problem for you.
Why Another App or Strategy Isn't Your Solution
How many have you tried at this point?
Sure, another app might help you organize all of your to do lists a little better or automatically post to your social media account or insert some numbers into whatever program you are running, but there are so many things that we have to do on a daily basis that an app just can't do for us.
Things that require us to think and use the knowledge we have worked so hard to acquire, and still are constantly acquiring.
Honestly, when you try to use an app to get these types of tasks done, you are just adding an unneeded step to your day and causing yourself more work and more stress because now you have to remember to type notes into an app before you take action on actually solving the problem.
Weird right, an app that is claiming to increase productivity can actually be causing you more work?
Yes, it has happened to me plenty of times before realizing that I was spending more time trying to figure out what to write down in my apps to make me feel productive than actually taking action and being productive.
What Too Many Apps Do to Our Work
They Add Extra Stress and Barely Increase Productivity.
Like I said, these apps just increase the amount of steps that it takes to get some things done.
Sure, they are helpful to a certain extent, like we have to have a plan and know what needs to get done but there becomes a fine line between helpful and just plain wasting our valuable time.
Or even worse, if we spend too much time focusing on "how productive we are," we never actually take the time to get real work done, work that will actually help us reach goals and not just do things that make us feel like we are productive so we can tell everyone else about it.
The beauty about actually being productive is that you don't need to tell everyone about it.
If you catch yourself striking up conversations about these great productivity apps a little too often, try to take a step back and figure out what it is you are really getting done to achieve your goals.
The answer may shock you.
You may be spending 10 hours a day "working" yet only a handful of those hours are spent doing things that will help you get closer to your goals, imagine if you could flip those numbers around.
Clearing Your Mind Might Be Your Solution
Better thoughts, more focus and better problem solving sounds pretty nice...
Guess what else all of these apps and extra work adds to your life? Extra stress because now you have to remember what all you have to do before you can actually get work done.
We don't need more stress and clutter in our minds, that is what is causing the lack of productivity in the first place so it seems kind of counterproductive to add more stress to your mind.
Stress is essentially the leading factor that impacts our work because when you are stressed, you don't process things through your mind as effectively, leaving you with a million things going around in your mind all day long.
Then, you attempt to try and go to bed but you just have too many things going on in your mind to sleep or when you finally do fall asleep you wake up still tired because you didn't get deep sleep as you mind was still very active.
So, the day continues and you add more stress because you have to start another project for your boss and now you are not thinking clearly because you didn't sleep well.
When you aren't thinking clearly you aren't going to be able think through problems, keep your train of thought or even come up with any solid ideas. That sounds like a problem doesn't it?
It is essentially a downward spiral each week as the stress builds up and that is something that you really don't want to take a part in.
No wonder so many people dread going to work.
This is exactly why clearing your mind and more importantly, taking control of your mind to build as foundation for your life, is so important so that you can avoid situations like these and keep a more level mind.
Why Your Work Suffers When Your Mind Isn't Where It Could Be
Your work might be scattered and your thinking might be even more scattered.
I would say that when you can't think through problems effectively, are constantly getting distracted or losing you train of thought and your mind is thinking about a million things at once, that there is no way this is good for your work.
If you can't stay focused on one thing at a time and really give all of your thought to it, reaching a flow state as some call it (when you are completely consumed by that activity), then you really just aren't going to have effective work.
You are going to jump from one task to another and when you are trying to solve a problem you are not going to be able to recall the previous experiences you have had as effectively or even the knowledge you have around the subject.
This leads to average work and lack of promotions, not surprisingly.
When your mind is not running as optimal as it could be, you are sure to be affected by it.
The scary thing is, is that many people don't even recognize when this is happening.
They just assume this is how they are supposed to feel or that they have always felt this way so they know no different.
Essentially these people have rarely felt what it is like to think at their best, and if they have it was a rare "amazing day." How about we start adding more amazing days to your life and letting you actually see what your mind is capable of? Sounds fun, right?
How Your Work and Productivity Will Improve When Your Change Your Mind
Just trust me...
Change your mind, change your life. Start living by that and you will be golden.
When you attack each day with a more level head, not extremely stressed but knowing what you need to get done, you are going to be able to have much better focus.
Plus, when you start clearing your mind and getting those random things out of your mind, only taking up space with essential values, ideas and tasks, you are going to be so much more productive as you aren't stopping work every 0.2 seconds to check your phone, work on something else or think different thoughts.
You owe it to yourself to invest some time into your mind as it pays the best return of any investment that you will ever make.
Feel better, think clearer and work better.
Let's Get Started, A Free Mental "Workout"
Almost every day I will bring you these "workouts" at the end of the articles to actually help you take action and change your mindset.
Because that is one of the major things I see missing in personal development, the actionable advice. Everyone has ideas and theories that are "up in the clouds," yet they never come down to Earth and give us some real ways to change.
And that is what MMNTM is for, to help you actually change in a unique and fun way, it's like taking your mind to the gym every day at yourmmntm.com/blog
Exercise #1: Journal
Reps: 2x per day (once in the morning and once at night)
Notes: Get your thoughts out in the morning and at night so you aren't keeping them up top all day.
Excerse #2: Plan your day the night before
Notes: This helps prevent morning stress so that you can wake up knowing what needs to happen rather than stressing about remembering everything in the morning.
Exercise #3: Take a walk
Duration: 45 minutes
Notes: There is really no better way to clear your mind to get outside and just move. Throw in a podcast or some music or just let your mind wander.
Exercise #4: Do a simple meditation
Duration: 10 minutes
Notes: You don't have to meditate for hours to be effective, a quick guided meditation from YouTube can make all of the difference.
Exercise #5: Control what you eat
Notes: As simple as cutting back on sugar, unneeded carbs and processed foods. Or if you are really adventurous and are seeking great results, try an intermittent fast or a day/two fast.
Exercise #6: DRINK MORE WATER
Notes: A gallon a day the healthy way:) Your brain is made up of mostly water, so keep hydrated.
All of these are free and that gives you no excuse not to get started. Simple ways to get started clearing your mind and reducing that brain fog so you can see how you really should be thinking.
Andddd just like that another day on the blog is in the books! Thanks for all the support and if you enjoyed this or learned anything I just ask one thing: bring a friend back tomorrow! Time to make personal development more "normal" because it is at the foundation of every area of our lives. Stop back with a friend tomorrow-- yourmmntm.com/blog
Now be sure to actually put what you learned to use, don't just read about it and make yourself feel like you are taking action, actually take action!
