Have a more clear vision, problem solve better, stay more focused and be more productive during the week.Clearing your mind is crucial to do on Sundays. Why? It is the beginning of the week and will set your tone for the upcoming week. Too many of us, especially college kids our age, are using Sundays to chill and rest while this is essentially setting the tone for the week. When you set the tone for the week as restful, you are going to subconsciously carry that tone throughout the rest of the week and next thing you know it's Friday and you really didn't get much done that you needed to and are even more stressed. How about we learn to set the tone for the week the right way, which is definitely going to take some sacrifices, but don't worry you will still make time for Sunday football I promise. And as always, I got you guys with the workout for your mind at the end of this blog so that you can start right away! Here is What to Expect
What Most People Are Doing on SundayAnd Why it is Killing Their Results Each week The alarm goes off at 9:30 in the morning because the hopeful your last night thought you were going to get a lot done today, but you snooze it until noon because you are pretty hungover from the night before. Eventually, you get out of bed and make some food, you think about going to the gym and h*ll you might even make your way to the gym before you start your Netflix grind for the day. Then at some point during the night you finish some homework or work you had to do over the weekend before going to sleep and getting the week started on Monday. Sound familiar at all? It was very familiar to me and pretty much summed up my first few years of college weekends, pretty d*mn unproductive. Why exactly is this killing our results every week though, when we wait until Monday to start the week? As I mentioned before, Sunday sets the tone for the rest of the week. When you lay around and don't do much other than what you already do out of habit, then that is the tone you set for the week. Sure, you may get the work you need to done but you really never excel. You stay focused on the things that don't matter that much and that essentially just keep you busy, getting you no closer to your goals even though you are constantly working. The "lazy Sunday" also leaves your to-do list packed, pushing it off until "some other time." This takes up unnecessary space in your brain throughout the week and causes even more unnecessary stress, which could all be solved with a simple change in Sunday routine. Welcome to Mental Clarity SundaysHow You Should Structure Your Sundays Instead It's time to make "lazy Sundays" your most effective day of the week. Sundays should be focused on clearing up all the little tasks that you have been pushing off until some later date or even ideas that you wanted to try or pretty much anything that is in the back of your mind that you haven't gotten to that week. It doesn't take any extra "tools" or resources in order to clear that to do list or get any ideas that you have written down. Literally, you can just go grab a notepad, or even use the notes app on your phone and start getting everything written down that you have been meaning to get done. Then, knock these things out every Sunday to go into the week with a clean slate, more space in your mind and less unnecessary stress. You know the feeling when you have a great idea around your life, business, fitness, or whatever it is, on a walk or in the car and then it stays in the back of your mind and you really never get it done or even started. Well, finally you have a time to get all these ideas written down, and even started. This allows you to figure out which ideas align with what interests you the most and start to take action on those ideas. That is what Sundays should be all about. Why You Need to Be Doing This on Sundays"Why Am I Going to Give Up A Rest Day Each Week?" Whether you realize this or not, these little tasks, ideas and thoughts take up brain space and causes stress in your week that just doesn't need top be there. When you get all of these random tasks done, ideas out of your head and started and then just thoughts written down, it frees up brain space and stress in your mind each week. Plus, getting all of these small things off the "to-do" list allows you to not have to worry about them during the week so that you can focus on actions more aligned to your goals. Imagine starting your week with more free time than before, more clarity in your goals and ready to do more things that are actually aligned with where you want your life to head, not just things that keep you busy. It's time to take control of your life again and not just living in autopilot, going through the days and weeks with a million things that never get done, or ideas that never get started. Sunday Training Session Yes, Back at it With The Mindset Workouts This is as simple as it comes in terms of workouts, just a few steps here! Step one, get all of those thoughts, ideas and things you have been needing to get done, written down and out of your head. Clearing your head is always the first step before you can get anything done, because you gotta know exactly what has to get done. Next, actually get done everything that you have been meaning to get done and figure out which ideas to start. Perfect, now that our heads are cleared from all this stress we were subconsciously causing ourselves, time to start the second part of Sunday. Now that you have gotten all of the small things you have been meaning to do done, it is time to figure out what the larger things are, the things that will actually get you closer to your goals, that need to get done during the week. These were all of the things that always got pushed off until some future date because we were just keeping ourselves busy with small tasks all day every day. Plan out the rest of your week on Sunday, what you are going to do and when you are going to do it, so that you can wake up ready to go. This frees up even more mental space because you are sure on what is goin g to get done that day and no longer have to keep a constant "to-do" list going in your brain. Pro tip: to make Sundays even easier for yourself, you can keep a constant to do list on your phone or notepad so that you don't need to even take the time to write it down on Sundays, you can just get right to work knocking those tasks off. Finally, always make sure to find some time to meditate after you have done everything you need to on Sunday as when you mind is clear, you are able to stay focused and become more presemnt in your meditations, helping your happiness and mindset in the long run.
