Wake up, drive to work/ school, go to the gym, come home, watch Netflix, go to sleep and occasionally go out on a Friday or Saturday night with a handful of your friends. Sound like your every single week? Now multiply that by 10+ years and that is how way too many people live, I guess you could add a couple of beach vacations in there as well. This is no way to live, you are essentially just going through the motions of life, letting whatever happens to you happen, and not ever experiencing anything new. You are just doing what is easy rather than what will help you grow and in turn you never even start to experience the amazing things that life has to offer. You never maximize your potential in your mindset, health and happiness and you never have new experiences or ones that push you out of your comfort zone because on the weekends you just go to the same places or on your vacations you just go to some random beach in whatever state in the U.S./ country in the Caribbean. I have always been craving new experiences in life, whether it was just something other than sitting on the beach during a vacation, or trying to master a new skill and I think this is due to me getting an Instagram around sometime in my middle school years. This platform allowed me to see that there were so any places to see, things to do and people to learn from. From then on, I started trying to convince my family to go on crazier trips (probably starting in early high school not middle school) and doing unique things on those trips that others weren't doing, that would leave me with life long stories. This lead me to doing things such as hanging out of a helicopter in New York City (just google open door helicopter tours), racing Lamborghinis in Vegas and even studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. Even on weekend trips or smaller road trips with my friends I would seek out the things or places that nobody else was going to or doing. But seeking out these experiences and trying to experience life wasn't just around travel, I have also been focused on trying to build habits to experience more in my day to day life as well as build skills that allow me to learn and experience more that I am passionate about. Having an experience can include traveling or going somewhere, but it doesn't always have to. Actually, the experiences I have had just building my habits and experiencing more on a day to day level have helped me learn a comparable amount to immersing yourself in a culture, you just learn different things about yourself. That is why I started MMNTM because I have experienced a handful of life at my young age (in college at the moment) and wanted to share with you how you can start to do the same. Even if it is just changing your habits to help you on a day to day, or experiencing what your mind is truly capable of as this has been a huge focus of mine for the last half of a year I would say! Change Your HabitsAs I talked about above, a major focus of mine has been experiencing more of my life on the day to day rather than just going through the motions of life and driving to school every day and sitting in class, only to come home, watch TV and fall asleep. This actually started when my girlfriend broke up with me before I came back from studying abroad and I fell into a deep sadness, as I felt more alone than ever across the world and not having her to come home to. To be honest, the first few months back were rough until I realized I needed to change something and started focusing on my habits more. Starting with being more focused in the gym, eating better, listening to podcasts, going on a morning walk, taking a cold shower, etc. Little did I know, that building these habits would not just help me feel better and happier, they would also help me start to experience more of life on a day to day basis as I was learning, getting stronger and building new skills in my health. This also helped with my side hustles and MMNTM as I was having more energy on a day to day basis and could focus more on these things which brought new meaning to my days. I will talk about this in a later section though. After starting with these first few habits that I mentioned above, I jumped into learning about how I can improve my cognitive function through different foods, meditation, supplements, etc so I could experience what my brain could actually do. And wow, it has helped me so much in school as well as during the day as my thoughts have become clearer and my memory has improved greatly. Even if you don't have a travel budget at the moment, or don't have the time to travel as much as you would like, you can start experiencing more on a day to day basis just through the habits you have. Change a few, or add a few habits per month and start to see what they can do for your life and happiness. Travel MoreObviously traveling will help you experience more in life just because of the situations you put yourself in and how uncomfortable you are likely to be when traveling to a new place. This helps you build skills and expand your comfort zone a little bit and increase the number of life long stories that you have. But, I won't touch on those big trips in this section, I am just going to focus on what you can do on the weekends (or quick road trips) as that is going to be what many people can start with, not taking a huge trip across the world. If you are looking for more stories on the larger trips, check out my blog under "Travel" on the website by clicking this link right here >> As for weekend trips, these have to be the best way to start experiencing more and getting out of your routine. Just take that money that you would normally use to go out on the weekends and put it towards a quick couple hour road trip one weekend to somewhere cool near you, or even try something new that you normally don't do in your own city. This will get you out of the comfort zone and break the routine you have, which will help you feel much better! I can almost bet that there are a million things to do around you that you just never do, even in surrounding cities/ towns, such as I just learned a city near me has indoor skydiving, what better way to have a new experience?! Some of these things will cost more money than others and you can either go out to eat and get drinks less, or you can start something that I call the "experience fund" which is money you can only use for experiences (click here to learn more about that). x
How to Start That Side Hustle and Start Traveling MoreStart Something You Have Always Wanted ToEveryone has that thing they have always wanted to start and are just waiting for the "right time" or straight up just putting it on the back burner for "later" which we all know will never happen. My advice? Just start doing it NOW! Find time during the day to start working on that blog, business, vlog, podcast, start gardening, start redesigning your home, start learning the guitar, etc. Just do something that puts you out of your comfort zone and forces you to learn new skills. This will add a new element to your day to day life and help you build some life long skills. Ultimately, it will just make you a more interesting person, no matter what the results are as it will grow the amount of stories you have. When you wake up every day knowing that yo are going to be learning that new song, or writing that new blog, it gives you new meaning to your life and helps you get excited to get out of bed and get out of your routine. If you aren't pushing yourself and growing or learning new skills, you just get stuck in a routine an that is where life gets boring, just waiting to retire and sit on a beach. Well, news flash, what fun is retirement just sitting on a beach? Even that gets boring after a few weeks, you are going to be wanting to get new skills and try new things even then. Trying new things has always been my favorite things to do as it leaves me with more stories and more skills for that next things I try! This is just a small chunk of what life has to offer and I can't wait to write more posts on helping you experience more of it as I learn how to do so myself! There is so much out there and as I grow and find more ways to experience life, I would love to share with you guys. And if you are looking for a side hustle to make some extra money and start experiencing more, even if it's just more money for coll dates with the significant other... I made a guide on how I have started my side hustle which you can download by clicking here >> Have a great week, Taylor Other Blogs You Will Enjoy
