And How I Can Help Change That...
Here you are, maybe you just finished reading a self help or personal development book and you are feeling great.
Flash forward a few days/ weeks and boom, you are right back to where you started.
Not really any better than before you started the self help book(s) and you are wondering why.
Sure, you come out of them feeling like a hundred bucks and maybe having a little more knowledge on a handful of these topics, but that is it, that's the problem.
You aren't sure how to implement these things into your life, or maybe you try a few things and it works for a little bit but you just can't seem to stick with it.
The "self-help" and personal development industries are selling you on that feeling you get after reading the books because then they can say that you felt better and learned something after the books, heck even the courses.
Then, once that feeling wears off you are left wondering what you are doing wrong and why it isn't working for you, it's because you never learned to properly take action on those ideas.
D*mnnnnn,. almost forgot, if you are new to the blog, thanks for stopping by! With MMNTM (mo-men-tum) my goal is to help you guys level up your mind and mindset with effective workouts. Much like you would train your body, this is the gym for your mindset, everything from your happiness and mental clarity to focus and productivity. These are the things that have helped me the most and I love sharing them with you daily on yourmmntm.com/blog so be sure to pop out daily!
Now let's get back to what you started reading for.
What To Expect in This Blog
The Underlying Problem in The "Self-Help" Industry
Its pretty widely known too...
As I said before, a lot of the information out there is "up in the clouds" and not actionable at all.
You feel good after reading the book even if you are not implementing anything you have learned, why? Because you have learned what seems to be a groundbreaking discovery in your happiness or mindset, and maybe it is, but you don't know how to implement that.
Essentially, the whole industry needs to get out of the clouds and start to actually come down and figure out how to help people.
This is not at all saying that their ideas as false by any means, because a lot of the ideas and knowledge that I have picked up in these kinds of books are very solid and actually totally changed my perception on some things.
There is just a gap between the knowledge and the implementation that needs to be bridged in order to make REAL changes in your life and not just feel good.
I think I can help you with that.
Why Nobody Is Doing Anything About This
Why would they?
As I talked about beore, you still get this feeling that you are changing your life after you finish a course or a book, even if you are not taking anymore action than you were before towards your personal development.
This is almost like a placebo because while you may think you are "more developed" as a person now, you really just have the knowledge that could make you more developed and you haven't taken action on it yet.
Many people don't realize this diffference and just think that the placebo effect they are feeling is real change happening in their lives and this is why the self help industry is such a large industry, because even if that is a placebo, you still feel f**king amazing.
The real change doesn't come until you get out of the clouds and down in the dirt and start taking action day in and day out.
Doing the things that are super hard at first and not just that easy first step of reading. Reading is essential but most people stop there because reading is easy to do and helps you feel productive, when in reality you aren't productive until you actually start taking real actions that will help you improve.
Let's get you all back down to the dirt and taking action.
The One Way We Can Start Actually Getting You Results
You have to start doing the actual work.
Whether you come bearing knowledge from the past or are looking for new knowledge and strategies for your personal development, here is the next move.
Time to actually learn some actionable strategies, this is how you get down into the dirt and out of the clouds.
Sure, staying in the clouds might feel like you are "grinding" but you really aren't going to get any physically closer to your goals until you start taking some real action.
From structuring your days differently to picking up new habits and making yourself uncomfortable on a daily basis,. you have to know what you are doing differently each day and why you are doing it.
When you know these things and start to structure your days differently, that is when you start noticing real change towards your development.
What is MMNTM?
Other than just the blog you are reading right now...
MMNTM (mo-men-tum) started as a way to help myself actually take the lessons I have learned over the years in personal development books and podcasts and actually put them to use.
I noticed I have been listening to all of these podcasts and reading all these books for years and was still pretty miserable in my day to day, even with all the knowledge I had.
Why? I'm sure you can guess my answer here: because I was taking no real action.
So, I started testing and testing for a while to see what would work and then put them into sort of "workouts" for myself and my mind.
I decided that those helped me so much that I should share them in a fun way and that's when MMNTM was created, a gym for your mind.
Each workout is much like a physical workout you would get at a gym for your body, but this time for your mind.
Helping everything from inner dialogue to your happiness and even confidence and productivity in work or school.
This is my way to help you get out of the "clouds" and into the "dirt."
I have these blogs almost daily and a lot of them include sample workouts at the bottom: yourmmntm.com/blog and the real workouts you will be able to purchase soon here >>
