How to optimize your work day in a way you might not have thought of before...

How familiar does this sound...

You go to work and work your ass off for probably 8-10 hours a day and then go home all stressed out. Repeat this cycle for years at a time and you still feel like you are getting nowhere.

No matter how hard you work or the extra work that you do, it never seems to be enough or there are always newer or younger people getting promoted because of their ideas.

Ideas that you seem to lack, for whatever reason.

It doesn't have to be like that though.

The answer to your problems isn't always to work more, while that does help in certain cases, it is not always the answer.

Sometimes you have to look inside yourself to solve the problem of why you aren't getting the results in your career that you hoped for when you were fresh out of college.

This is going to help you do that, so don't stress anymore!
I almost forgot! If you are new to the blog, thanks for stopping by! With MMNTM (mo-men-tum) my goal is to help you level up your mind and mindset with effective "workouts." Much like you would train your body, this is the gym for your mindset, everything from your happiness and mental clarity to mental discipline and productivity. These are the things that have helped me the most and I love sharing them with you daily on yourmmntm.com/blog so be sure to stop out daily!

Now let's get back to what you started reading for.

Why You Are Reading This Article

You probably aren't seeing the results you want...
You probably stumbled upon this article because maybe you have been at a job for a while now, are giving your heart and soul to it and still aren't seeing the results you want to.

Maybe you aren't getting noticed like you thought you would, maybe you aren't getting those raises at the end of the year or maybe you just aren't producing the quality work that you thought you would.

It is very discouraging to constantly show up everyday and give your heart and soul, yet other people always seem to do better, no matter how hard you work.

It seems like they always have the good ideas or the solutions to those major problems in the company that get recognition from the higher ups and propel them up the corporate latter.

Well, I'd say it is time to flip that script so that you can start to experience this too, instead of just watching your co-workers excel.

What Everyone Else Tries to Do When It Comes to Getting Better Results At Work

Yeah, this isn't always the answer.
Sure, working harder can get you results some of the time, but that definitely isn't always the answer.

What if you are working super hard on the wrong things? Sure you are putting in 10 hour days but you are doing tasks that aren't as effective or tasks that don't matter as much. Then it doesn't matter how hard you work, you will not get the same results as others who are more focused.

Spending hours networking or longer hours at the office seems like the answer for a lot of people when it comes to how top get ahead in their career.

This is true only after you have built the foundation to grow off of and actually make that extra work worth while.

And you guessed it, that foundation is your mindset. More importantly, your mental clarity.

When you work on this, you start to stand out from the crowd and this is how you set yourself apart "behind the scenes."

How Mental Clarity Will Help Optimize Your Work Day

Better thoughts, ideas and action. What could be better?
What should you be focusing on in order to build that foundation so that those longer days will actually pay off?

You need to be working on your mental clarity.

What is your mental clarity?

It is essentially how well you think through problems, find answers and stay focused.

And surprisingly, this is really hard for a lot of people whether they realize it or not.

Some days you can really tell that your brain is foggy, say after a long night drinking, and a lot of us actually live like this without really noticing it. You only start to notice how foggy your thinking was after you start taking the steps to clear your mind.

What exactly impacts our mental clarity?

Well, a lot of things but the things that I have noticed the most after cutting things out of my life and adding in other things, were the food we are eating, the stress we carry in our lives and how active we are.

If we are carrying stress from the past or even stress about upcoming events, we are going to take up valuable space in our mind storing this stress. This is space that could be used for new thoughts or ideas instead.

Similarly, if we are eating a ton of sugar and carbs, this really isn't giving our brain any nutrients and will leave us lacking focus and experiencing brain fog.

The people who have the best control of their mental clarity, and aren't just running on autopilot during the day, are the ones that excel the most in their career.

Why Mental Clarity is the Answer

Your mindset is at the foundation of every area of your life.
Why does mental clarity play such a big part in your career and how far your excel up the ranks or the quality of work that you put out?

Well, when you have clarity in your thinking, you are going to be developing more ideas, which leads to some better ideas, and also you are going to be able to think through problems and find solutions to these problems much easier than you would have been able to.

You will surprise yourself with you thoughts when you start to clear your mind and can actually focus on one task at a time without getting distracted by everything else going on.

Then, when you combine those new ideas with more focus that mental clarity brings you, you are going to be able to get way more work done without getting distracted or losing your train of thought.

And now, this is where you can actually have effective ten hour work days because you are clear on your thinking and are getting real tasks done, not just staying really busy for ten hours and not getting any real work done.

How to Start Gaining Mental Clarity

Almost every day I will bring you these "workouts" at the end of the articles to actually help you take action and change your mindset.

Why?

Because that is one of the major things I see missing in personal development, the actionable advice. Everyone has ideas and theories that are "up in the clouds," yet they never come down to Earth and give us some real ways to change.

And that is what MMNTM is for, to help you actually change in a unique and fun way, it's like taking your mind to the gym every day at yourmmntm.com/blog

We are all busy, but mental clarity just takes a little bit of time each day to start seeing results and its pays your time investment in 10x results in your career. So, don't worry that you are going to be spending some time each day focusing on your mental clarity, it is the foundation to your success in the workplace.

Exercise #1: Take a Cold Shower
Reps: 1x per day
Duration: 3-5 minutes
Notes: You will gain massive focus when you are in the cold water because your mind will stay focused on the cold and prevent your brain from starting to wander to other areas of your life.

Exercise #2: Take a Walk
Duration: 45 minutes
Notes: Leave the phone at home and get outside, be present and sort out your thoughts as this is the perfect time to do so. Don't just let thoughts accumulate in your mind all day.

Exercise #3: Cut Out Sugar This Week
Notes: Ideally a lot of unnecessary carbs as well, these are the two major foods that cause brain fog for a lot of us.

Exercise #4: Drink a lot of Water
Notes: 1 gallon a day to be exact, you brain is made up of mostly water so keep it hydrated.
Boom, just like that another day on the blog is in the books! Thanks for all the support and if you enjoyed this or learned anything I just ask one thing: bring a friend back tomorrow! Time to make personal development more "normal" because it is at the foundation of every area of our lives. Stop back with a friend tomorrow-- yourmmntm.com/blog

Now be sure to actually put what you learned to use, don't just read about it and make yourself feel like you are taking action, actually take action!
